I am thrilled to once again be your candidate for Crowley ISD School Board - Place 2. As a long-time resident of Crowley ISD, I continue to be proud and amazed at the numerous achievements our district has made over the past six years.  Since the beginning of my first term in 2017, CISD has consistently advanced in academics, fine arts, and athletics.  Those areas combined are a testament to the great work the district administrative team, teachers, students, parents, and community have demonstrated each year.  We set the bar high several years ago and we’ve achieved many milestones. 

Most notably,

• 100% of all our schools, that’s 26 campuses and nearly 17,000 students, met or exceeded state standards in 2022
• 13 campuses received a total of 30 distinctions, up from 16 in 2019
• All elementary and high schools are rated as A or B campuses per 2022 STAAR results
• Our entire district improved 15 points, from 70 in 2018 to 85 in 2022, with a rating of B

And we are still soaring!

I strongly believe the amount of time and resources that we dedicate to our children today will have positive, long lasting rewards for them as individual citizens, as well as for us who will, most assuredly, depend on their leadership and expertise in many aspects of our lives. As a parent, community leader, and business professional with experience both in higher education and corporate America, I have a vested interest in the success of all our children. 

I know the value of getting a great education. I am a first generation college graduate, and knowing how competitive the job market was at the time I became a college freshman, I consistently set higher goals for myself.  I defeated many obstacles, even moments of self-doubt, to graduate from TCU with a B.S. in Communications.  Later, as a full-time working wife and mother, I received a M.S. degree in Human Resource Management from Amberton University and a Ph.D. degree in Applied Technology - Performance Improvement from the University of North Texas. And, in July, 2023, I will have completed the requirements for my MBA.  

I am proud to be a lifelong learner and my desire is that EVERY student in Crowley ISD has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential and excel in whatever college, career, or military journey they take.  I truly believe that it takes a village to support our students. They are at the center of everything we do as they continue to break barriers, overcome obstacles and excel across the board, from academics and athletics to fine arts and leadership.  None of this would be possible without the support and encouragement from a number of people, including our dedicated teachers, administrators, staff, community and faith based leaders, and parents.

That desire to help our students across the district continue on an upward trajectory by setting higher standards of excellence in education and achieving those goals has inspired me to keep advocating for our students.  Humbly, I ask for your support as your candidate for Crowley ISD Board of Trustees - Place 2.
